Tuesday Ten: November Style Tips

Category: Tuesday Ten     Contributors     Style Tips And Ideas     Wear     Lauren Conrad

A new month means a clean slate and fresh style inspiration. Last month I couldn't get enough of wide-leg trousers and vibrant prints. While I'm still incorporating those pieces into my autumn wardrobe, this month I'm adding a few more coveted staples to the mix. Enter: long coats, knee-high boots, and faux fur vests. The colder the weather, the cooler the styles get in my opinion. So, take a peek at my latest style tips and be sure to let me know which trends are your favorites this month.

Layer like a lady via Vogue.

1. Layer like a lady.
Not only is it officially outwear season, it's party season as well. Take a note from Vogue and layer like a lady the next time you step out in your holiday best. I'm talking cozy peacoats with dazzling gowns.

Keep it in the same color family via M Loves M.

2. Keep it in the family.
While there's nothing I love more than a monochromatic outfit, I'm really into mixing hues that are in the same color family this season. Mara of M Loves M is the complete package in her blush pink peacoat and deep maroon cropped pants.

Blanket yourself in scarves via Atlantic Pacific.

3. Blanket yourself in scarves.
Getting out of your warm bed on chilly mornings can be rough. Lucky for us, Blair of Atlantic Pacific is demonstrating how to beat the cold weather blues: blanket scarves. Wear them as a scarf, shawl, or poncho for optimum warmth.

Pretty in pantsuits via Sazan.

4. Pretty in pantsuits.
This month I'm taking a tip from menswear. Mix up a drab pantsuit by opting for a fun pattern like plaid. Don't forget the show-stopping pair of pumps. Sazan couldn't have worn it any better: just add cherry lips and a statement handbag.

Break it up via Brooklyn Blonde.

5. Break it up.
There's nothing sleeker than black on black. That being said, I challenge you to break it up this month by adding in a pop of color. I love how Helena of Brooklyn Blonde threw on a gorgeous pink trench over her black ensemble.

Reach for the sky via Walton and Rush.

6. Reach for the sky.
Sky-high boots, that is! I'm planning on taking full advantage of boot season this year starting with these suede over-the-knee beauties. Em of Walton & Rush has certainly inspired that decision with her fall florals and knee-high boots.

Be in-vest-ed via With Love From Kat.

7. Be in-vest-ed.
Not every day calls for a heavy coat and scarf. For those warmer fall afternoons, vests are the perfect layering piece. Dress them up with a sweet dress or go casual with a flannel like Kat of With Love From Kat did above.

8. Flirt with feathers.
Amp up your typical sweater this season. I didn't realize how chic feathers could be until I spotted Pandora Sykes in her playfully textured sweater! Paired with a tube skirt and heeled boots, this outfit screams fall.

Step it up via Angel Food Style.

9. Step it up.
Don't reserve your heels for special occasions. This month I challenge you to dress your favorite pumps up or down, depending on your mood. Sophie of Angel Food Style styled her heels with a versatile dress that can easily be worn from day to night.

Sweet for suede via The Way To My Hart.

10. Sweet for suede.
That's right, ladies; suede is here to stay. Moto jackets, boots, and the ever-popular fringe skirt are just a few ways to wear this coveted trend. Jessica of The Way to My Hart's take on suede is one of my faves.
