Hello ladies, hope you’ve all been having an awesome week and your weekend has been super fun. Today was a day full of errands (as is my usual Saturday morning/afternoon) but while out and about going food shopping and doing all sorts of running around I had to stop at Ulta Beauty since it is right near some other stores I had to go to. There is an Ulta in Clifton, New Jersey right near the Trader Joe’s I do my weekly grocery shopping, so I popped in there today because I have been dying to get my hands on the Too Faced Cosmetics “Born This Way” Foundation

of course anytime I walk into a cosmetics or beauty store I know I will never walk out with only one thing, or just the thing I went in for… that would just never happen. I found so many things I wanted to pick up and also started to see some super cute holiday gift sets that I may start to stock up on for gifting this year.

By the way, the weather in New Jersey has gotten so cold so quickly! Today I had thought I could get away with wearing just a long sleeve turtleneck, but I had to run back in the house and grab a puffer vest. Anyhow, I threw my hair up in a pony tail and was out the door and on my mission for the day. Ulta, I love your store, it is always so fun to go in and see what new items are there and test/try out the products. While Ulta does not sell every makeup brand they do carry a wide variety: Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, Clinique, Smashbox, Tarte, Lorac and many others.

So I headed to the Too Faced Cosmetics wall to find the Born This Way Foundation. I have read so many great reviews on this foundation from a ton of other beauty bloggers and I’ve been meaning to try a new foundation. I was torn between two colors; Nude or Light Beige but I decided to go with the Light Beige Born this Way.

Left: NUDE // Right: LIGHT BEIGE – I went with the one on the right since nude was a bit too light

The foundation costs $39 and they have a wide spectrum of skin tones to choose from and you can test them out on your jaw line at Ulta. Born This Way is an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can't see the makeup and you can't see imperfections-all that's left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way.

I like that this foundation is oil free and it has a beautiful coverage ( I will update with some before and after photos to post below ). For someone like me who has oily skin I always have to look for a foundation that will leave me with good coverage but not so heavy that it causes my skin to produce more oil. While in this section I loved the lip colors called “Melted” which are liquefied longwear lip colors that are super pigmented.

As I went through the store I found myself gravitating toward all the great gift sets. Sometimes the gift sets can save you so much money like this one from Lorac “Love, Lust & Last” comes with six (6) full size lip glosses and all of the colors are ones that I would use. Sometimes you find these gift sets and maybe like a few of the items, but not all – this one I would honestly use every single color.

The last section I visited was the hair care and hair mask section. I am always looking for hair treatments, especially now that I have ombre/lighter hair which needs more moisturizing and strengthening conditioners. I loved the coconut oil mask that I found and bought one of the packets so that I could try it out tomorrow. I usually like to do a hair mask on Sundays to kick off the week ahead and put the much needed moisture back into my tresses. Monoi Coconut Oil hair mask by Hask should be a great addition to my hair care routine. I also really love their packaging! I used this on my hair and you can get 2-3 treatments out of one packet. It has a delicious smell to it, reminds me of suntan lotion and instantly reminded me of my honeymoon in Aruba. It went on really thick and I left it on for ten minutes and rinsed out with cool water and my hair felt so soft and less staticy too.

So today I tried the foundation out and am very impressed. I used only one pump to do s medium coverage look for daytime. The fluid is soft and feels matte on the skin and not wet or dewy. It did a good job covering blemishes and discoloration. I tend to have redness in my Tzone and this masked that well. It is really good for those of you have a oily skin and tend to not like the feeling of a heavy makeup on your face. As you can see from my before and after photo it’s a nice light finish that almost feels like a powder when it sets. I am sure if you wanted I have your coverage at night time or for a special event you can do a second layer for a little bit more than I used for a daytime look.

Overall I say this would be something I would keep in my make up collection and use daily. To me it is right up there with value and price of some of my other foundations. You can see from my before and after it gives a beautiful finish and covers all imperfections and redness which I always look for in a foundation.
